Looking to what power the Impala the base engine is a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine giving you 196 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is attached to the six-speed automatic transmission which is found on both engines offered to give you a fuel mileage of 22 city/31 hwy mpg. The next engine is a 3.6-liter V6, this is the one that can make the sprint mentioned previously, and gives you a full 305 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque. Using the same transmission the fuel mileage comes in at 19 city/29 hwy mpg to make the decision difficult since it is so close to the base engine in this category. This engine can also be set up as a bi-fuel engine. In this form the gasoline power will give you 260 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of torque. The CNG operation offers 230 horsepower and 218 lb.-ft. of torque. This set up will offer you fuel mileage of 17 city/25 hwy for gasoline and 16 city/24 hwy for the CNG. Opting for the bi-fuel set up will start the car just above $38,300 but give you a fantastic range to enjoy. At the base price the Impala undercuts the competition easily to give you a car you really want to drive and know you got a great value.
