How many of you drive along everyday forgetting about the fun that driving can actually be? If you live in a large city area and have to commute to and from work several miles, you many have long forgotten that driving can actually be fun when you want it to be. Even though most of us spend our time trying to get from one place to another we can still take a break from the drudgery of the daily commute and find a way to have some fun on the road, especially if we choose the Mazda CX-3 as our vehicle of choice.

The CX-3 doesn’t have the most cargo room, it doesn’t even have a large rear seat, but it does offer a lot of fun for you on the road and even on some lighter trails. You can take the whole family, but this is a vehicle that’s more suited to putting the rear seats down, maximizing the cargo area and heading to the wilderness. If that doesn’t make you excited to own the CX-3, try driving one on the winding roads in your area and see just how much fun it is to drive a subcompact SUV that sticks to the curves like a sports car while giving you the added space of a raised vehicle.

As a vehicle that was new for 2016 the CX-3 hasn’t changed much for 2017 but the 18-inch wheels that were offered only on the Grand Touring are now standard on the Touring model as well. Along with this change the i-Activsense safety package has a reduced price making it $750 cheaper to include in your CX-3.

When you look at the CX-3 you won’t believe this SUV only costs $20,000 to start with. The “Kodo” design that Mazda has embraced makes this SUV look upscale and as if it should be wearing a badge from one of the German luxury brands rather than a mainstream Japanese brand. This design allows the CX-3 to have a long hood, LED accent lights, intricate details and an interior that is certainly a class above where this vehicle is sold.

Speaking of the interior, you will find a wide selection of great features on the inside that make you want to keep on driving. Do you want push button starting, how about the Mazda Connect infotainment system, or the connectivity and streaming that will make the ride even more fun? All of this and more is included in the CX-3 to give you a vehicle that fits all your needs and exceeds expectations on every level.

Yes, the CX-3 is small and lightweight but it does need to have a great engine to give you the fun you deserve. As the leader in fun Mazda knows the correct balance and has put a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine under the hood of every CX-3. This engine offers up 146 horsepower and 146 lb.-ft. of torque to be just enough power on both ends to give you the drive you want. This engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that helps to deliver the 29 city/35 hwy mpg in FWD or the 27 city/32 hwy mpg when you choose the AWD version of the CX-3.

We discussed some of the standard features, but the optional features will make this SUV even more fun for you and your family to enjoy. You can select from a large menu that includes a six-speaker audio system, heated exterior mirrors, a moonroof, mirror mounted turn signals, a center armrest, Letherette seats, real leather upholstery, LED headlights, fog lights, daytime running lights, Sirius XM/HD radio, automatic climate controls, heated front seats and the i-Activsense safety package with brings in Radar Cruise Controls, Smart Brake Support and several other great safety features.

The Mazda CX-3 is the SUV you want to drive. When a brand lives under the mantra of “zoom zoom” for as long as Mazda has they learn to perfect fun and what it means to drive. Even if you have to plod along in commuter traffic during the week, having a CX-3 to drive means you can take the long and more exciting way home on Fridays and find a great way to treat yourself to a weekend of driving fun and outdoor adventure in an SUV that’s built for fun.
