The Mercedes- Benz E-Class has been a choice many have made for their luxury ride for several reasons.  This class of vehicle offers several engine and performance options along with coming in a sedan, coupe, convertible and wagon build in order offer a lot of different choices.  Whether you want a great family-friendly wagon to make the long rides with the kids or you would rather have the great power and drive of an AMG model that is the sporty and high-energy offering in this lineup.  Although this is not as stylish as a Cadillac CTS or a Lexus GS the E-Class has a great deal to offer you a phenomenal drive.

It’s a luxury car so let’s see what it offers you as far as equipment.  The E-Class comes with Mercedes-Benz’s COMAND multimedia system with Bluetooth connectivity, power adjustable seats, a power sunroof, dual zone climate controls, and a multi-contour driver’s seat and a soft Alcantara headliner in the AMG model.  The features that can be added to the car include Keyless Go, rear side airbags, the Driver Assist package which adds adaptive cruise control, active blind spot monitoring and lane keeping assistance, the Premium Package offers a rearview camera, a navigation system, satellite radio, heated and ventilated seats and a Harman/Kardon Logic7 surround sound system, the 4Matic AWD system is another option on all but the AMG model and the convertible can be equipped with the Aircap and Airscarf neck heating system.

Lots of power choices means plenty of engines to choose from which are all attached to a dynamic seven-speed automatic transmission.  The base engine on the E250 BlueTEC is a 2.1-liter turbocharged diesel inline four-cylinder engine that brings you 195 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque along with a fuel mileage of 28 city/42 hwy mpg for the RWD version and 27 city/38 hwy in the AWD.  The E350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 that carries forth 302 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque.  This engine offers you 20 city/29 hwy mpg for the RWD, 20 city/28 hwy mpg for the AWD and 20 city/27 hwy mpg in the wagon.

Next up is a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 that is found in the E400 which gives you 329 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque along with a fuel mileage of 20 city/29 hwy mpg for the RWD and20 city/28 hwy mpg for the AWD.  At the E550 you get a 4.7-liter V8 which ups the power to 402 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque while offering a fuel mileage of 18 city/26 hwy mpg.  The E63 AMG S 4Matic comes in with a massive 5.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine to rocket the car with 577 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque and has a fuel number of 15 city/22 hwy mpg.

Even though there are four different body constructions to choose from the interior is basically the same on each one with only the AMG receiving added comfort features.  Even though real leather isn’t standard the MB-Tex material is soft and enjoyable if you don’t choose to get the actual leather seating.  All seating inside the cabin is comfortable and refined with wood trimming elements and a two-toned appearance to offer you a look that you will love.  If you choose the wagon you can get a third row that faces to the rear to add two more passengers and make it easier for the whole family to ride along on any trip.

At the midsized luxury size the E-Class offers a drive that is comfortable and performs perfectly in every body style with all five engines.  The cabin is quiet to allow you and your passengers to enjoy the music you want and the suspension, steering and braking are all tuned to perfection to offer the best possible performance.  This is a car you can truly enjoy driving as you take any curve at the speed you want and enjoy the soft but strong feeling of the drive form behind the wheel.

The price for the E-Class actually starts out at a surprising number.  The E250 BlueTEC asks for just under $53,000 while the E350 comes in only a little higher at $53,500.  The E400 4Matic will require $66,500 and the AMG shows up at $102,700.  For a couple variations, the E400 coupe starts at $55,000 and the E400 convertible will need $63,000 for you to own it.  These are very competitive prices and give you a fantastic selection of the stuff you need from the E-Class.  This is a car you want to drive and wants you to drive it.  With all the versatility offered you can have exactly the setup you want from this beautiful luxury model.
