In a large city it’s important for businesses to be able to deliver their products quickly and efficiently just about anywhere in the city. For this to be an efficient process many businesses don’t rely on delivery companies to do the work but rather on having their own vehicle at their disposal so they can offer faster and better customer service. The Nissan NV200 is a great van to get the job done, especially for companies who do business in a large city.
The NV200 is a smaller van so it is easy to maneuver and navigate throughout the city. This van is equipped with a smaller four-cylinder engine and is very stripped down to allow it to be fitted with the equipment and tools needed for any business that owns one. Even though this van will not be able to haul or tow a great deal of products and weight it does a masterful job of being one of the best vans on the market to take care of business and deliver the goods from any business to its customers.
For the 2015 model year the NV200 adds a new Nissan Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), an updated navigation and telematics system and a revised alternator. A couple new options are available as well to help with the safety of the vehicle including a sonar backup-assist system and a Sliding Door Glass Package.
Because Nissan had to plan for this van to be able to carry a wide variety of cargo they built it with the thought it might live its life carrying anything from bulky building materials to a delicate creation of confection this van must be able to deliver the goods intact. With this in mind the NV200 is fitted to drive like a car or small SUV rather than a cumbersome van which allows it to be smoother on the road than most vans and trucks as well as being very capable of maneuvering throughout the city streets with deft professionalism and precision.
The NV200 is only powered by one engine which comes in the form of a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that offers up to 131 horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to the new and more highly engineered automatic CVT to create a fuel efficiency that shows up at 24 city/26 hwy mpg. This fuel efficiency allows the NV200 to be a great choice for city driving by not having to be filled up on a daily or even semi-daily basis.
With function as the main ingredient of this van the NV 200 has an interior that is bare bones in the cargo bay to allow for any business to install shelves and fixtures that are needed to hold and handle the variety of tools and equipment that are needed for any job or to haul just about any item for delivery. This cavernous rear cargo area comes out to be 122.7 cubic feet of space to be able to configure the NV200 in any way that is needed to complete the job at hand. Up front the NV200 offers a comfortable pair of seats and easy to use and simple controls for anyone to be able to enjoy and control this van. The passenger seat folds flat to create a desk or workbench that can be used while on the road making this van into a mobile desk or office space with just the fold of a seat.
The exterior appearance of the NV200 on the outside speaks only to what this van is made for and that is for work. It is a van made to haul products or tools and do work without being showy or boastful and Nissan has done a masterful job making sure this van shows that purpose very well. The rear doors split in a 60/40 fashion to allow for different cargo loading and unloading capabilities and the cargo floor of the van is only 21 inches off the ground to give the van easy access and save those doing the heavy lifting from having a long travel height to navigate which is a major difference between this van and many small trucks when it comes to loading merchandise and supplies.
With a dialed down list of features and only two trim levels to choose from the NV200 offers only a short list of standard features. The two trim levels come in the form of the S and SV. The S model is the base model and includes air conditioning, a cargo-bay floor protector, a cargo-area work light, manually adjustable front seats with vinyl wear patches, power windows and a two speaker audio system with an auxiliary input. The SV adds cruise control, an additional 12-volt power outlet in the rear, six D-rings mounted to the cargo floor, power door locks, remote keyless entry and power heated exterior mirrors.
Both of the models of the NV200 offer a very nice list of optional features in order to fulfill their duties as work vans. These features include rear door windows, a passenger side sliding door window, sonar sensors for backing up, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, NissanConnect navigation and mobile app system that include a 5.8-inch touch screen and voice recognition and USB inputs. These added features allow the NV200 to be a great work van that allows business owners to communicate while on the road in a safe and secure manner.
The Nissan NV200 shows up at the base S model with a price around $21,600 to make this a very reasonably priced work van for any business to enjoy. The SV model increases the price by only $1,000 with the fully loaded version coming in around $24,000. At these prices the NV200 is a very easy price to live with for just about any business and makes for a great choice to get work done and outfit the van with everything the business needs to make sure this van can be a great business partner for any company.
