As part of the luxury flagship S-class, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is an all-electric luxury sedan that offers an incredibly opulent experience. The EQS is offered with RWD and one electric motor or AWD and two motors. You can opt for an extended driving range or get an EQS with 516 horsepower for maximum acceleration. This is one of the Mercedes electric cars making waves.
Luxury Abounds In Nine Different Trim Choices
It’s relatively common for EV models to offer only a few trim choices, but Mercedes bucks that trend with an incredible nine trims to choose from for the EQS. The sedan starts at around $105,000 and goes up to $137,000 depending on the trim and options. The EQS 450 makes up six of the nine trim choices, while the more powerful 580 takes over the three top trims. A nice mid-range choice is the top 450 trim, the 4Matic Pinnacle. Packed with luxury and convenience, this trim makes a respectable 335 horsepower.
Breaking Down Power and Performance in the EQS
As mentioned above, the EQS has a few different performance options to choose from. The single-motor version makes 335 horsepower, but a dual-motor version with AWD makes 516 horsepower. All models ride on an adaptive air suspension with wheel options between 19 and 21 inches. As you might expect, the EQS delivers a silky smooth ride. The sedan also includes rear-wheel steering to make it more maneuverable and more stable at high speeds.
Impressive Range
The Mercedes-Benz EQS delivers an impressive range across its model lineup. The newest version should offer an additional 11% driving range, which means up to 390 miles per charge. The EQS also features a fast-charging capability that can replenish roughly 70% of the charge in about 31 minutes. A Level 2 charger regains about 90% of charge in 11.5 hours. The EQS 580 manages up to 350 miles of range even with the lower-capacity battery pack. The EQS is truly a leader in long-range luxury EV models.
Satisfying Interior Furnishings
The interior of the EQS is both satisfyingly luxurious and packed with advanced tech. Even the base trims come with LED headlights, an air suspension, video navigation, a panoramic roof, wireless Android/Apple integration, and premium Burmester audio, among many other features. There’s even a standard 56-inch Hyperscreen for the instrument panel. With a long 126.4-inch wheelbase and a completely flat floor, the EQS offers copious room to spread out and pack cargo.
Connected In Every Way
Advanced tech is everywhere in the EQS. A fingerprint scanner helps you set up and activate individual driver profiles, while the Hey Mercedes voice-command system helps you navigate the tech hands-free. All models have six USB-C ports in the cabin and MBUX infotainment software. The larger Hyperscreen display includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen, and a 17.7-inch central touchscreen. Mercedes plans for OTA updates to add even more features.
Despite the extravagant price, the Mercedes-Benz EQS electric sedan is truly driving the future with luxury and innovation.
