As one of the most popular family sedans on the market, the Hyundai Sonata is preparing to be offered as the next generation model for the 2020 model year.
So far, this new model of the Sonata has been kept under wraps and we haven’t gotten to see what this car will be when it’s time for it to arrive on the market. Finally, one was spied in a parking lot in Los Vegas to give us a hint at what the car will be when it shows up in just over a year.
The Hyundai Sonata Will Continue to be a Gorgeous Family Sedan
If you’re going to be in the market for a new family sedan in the next couple of years, you need to pay attention to the new Sonata and what it will offer. Hyundai has a fantastic habit of offering us vehicles that bring in sporty styling and impressive lines to make sure we can experience a drive that makes a lot of sense on the road. The new 2020 Sonata won’t be an exception to this habit and it will actually offer some qualities from a concept model we’ve admired.
The Hyundai Le Fil Rouge concept was shown off earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show and it brought a new personality for the line. This concept model featured a svelte silhouette, a fastback style rear, and soft lines. There was also a large grill that was shown in this concept to allow it to suck in the air more easily if it were ever to be offered as a production model. The expectation is that the new Sonata will become a radically redesigned car that we can admire and enjoy when it goes out on the road.
Playing in the Class
The prototype that was seen in the parking lot in Las Vegas was found among its chief rivals to allow the Hyundai team to make sure it can absolutely be the car that we want when it arrives on the market in just a little over a year. While it’s still too early to say what the new Hyundai Sonata will offer, we could see the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine carried over or the 2.0-liter turbo as well. The eight-speed automatic transmission will likely also be brought forward for this car unless Hyundai begins to focus on a change to the powertrains.
While the model that was viewed was heavily camouflaged and hard to make out as far as the style and lines, we will see this car at one of the shows later in the early part of 2019 to give us a look at what it will be when it arrives. Expect the Sonata to be one of the few family sedans offered that truly excites and offers a bit of an impression that you’re going to love and admire when it comes across the stage at the show that Hyundai chooses for the unveiling of their new family sedan.
