Tesla keeps on pushing the boundaries and finding new ways to reach higher limits in its cars. First the hardware was upgraded until they finally had a 100 kWh battery pack underneath the car in order to have a car that is the quickest car on the planet, now the software has been upgraded to make the car even faster than before. Whether this is a response to the upcoming Faraday Futures models that are expected to be even faster or Tesla is simply working to see just how far and how fast these cars can go all translates into excitement for us.
Just recently Faraday Futures put their new FF 91 on stage with the claim that this new car would now be the quickest car on the market. While the Faraday Futures team works to reclaim what ended up being a terrible display on the stages at the Consumer Electronics Show, Tesla is showing off with their impressive success on the road and track with their new Model S P100D that now has what is being called Ludicrous Plus model installed in the cars. This new upgrade is one that owners will certainly want to install and enjoy right away.
This new and upgraded mode has a few improvements to the graphics in front of you while also giving you the new power and performance which can get you where you want to go much faster than before. What may amaze you most about this increase in power is the fact that over thirty more horsepower only translates to a drop in about half a second of time on the run to sixty mph, but this half a second is an important difference on the sprint to the finish line.
In the video linked below you can see exactly how to upgrade this system to have the right version of the firmware which is 2.52.22 for the P100D. Follow the steps shown and you’ll be greeted with a screen that gives you the option to run home to your mommy or bring on the challenge and the fun of better performance. Once you’ve done these things, you can have a lot of fun, as long as the roads are dry or you can head out to your nearby track, also if the conditions are dry, and have a great run in a car that’s ready to seriously perform.
Of course the increase of power does mean the working items of your car will be worn faster, which you’re informed of when you choose the Ludicrous Plus mode, but if you bought this car, you’re probably not too concerned with increased wear and want to have a little more fun. Check out this video and see how this car performs without being a problem at all. The Tesla P100D in Ludicrous Plus mode is the perfect way for this car to continue to be the quickest production car on the market and might just continue to keep Tesla ahead of the competition.
