The 2015 Volvo XC60 comes in with Volvo pride by scoring a perfect score in crash testing to achieve a five star rating. This is obviously a feat anyone with children will appreciate and enjoy, knowing if they purchase this beautiful and luxurious SUV they will be well protected in case of a collision. Add to this the all new engine lineup that is offed for the XC60 and Volvo seems as though it is just showing off with great engineering and stylings. As an agile and capable SUV, the XC60 is luxury driving excitement at its best and safest.

After a major overhaul in styling for 2014, the 2015 version is virtually unchanged except for the all-new engine series called the Drive-E. Two versions are offered for Volvo lovers to enjoy and with the added benefits of the always safety laden offerings from Volvo the SUV is well-mannered, excellently-styled, and very easy to fall in love with.

With plenty of passing power from the new line of engines on the XC60, the SUV is quicker and more agile than previous models. Add to this the serious driving capability offered by the highly tuned suspension and super responsive steering and the XC60 handles all road conditions with precision and ease. The cabin is quiet and allows on the sounds chosen by the occupants into the interior of the vehicle for their enjoyment. All of this together allows the XC60 to be a fantastic vehicle for a daily commuter, running errands around town, or for a weekend trip to the outdoors for some serious fun.

Five different engine options are offered for the Volvo XC60 starting with the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that begins the Drive-E family and is offered in front-wheel drive only. This engine offers the driver 240 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque to get where it needs to go. When partnered with the eight-speed automatic transmission this powertrain is capable of 24 city/31 hwy mpg of fuel economy.

Next up is the 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged inline four-cylinder engine also offered only as a FWD model. To put both a turbocharge and supercharge on an engine the Volvo engineers must have had a very long night with lots of coffee, but owners will love the power of 302 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine gets the same eight-speed automatic transmission and comes in with 22 city/30 hwy mpg of fuel economy.

Next up is the 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine that is offered only with all-wheel drive. This engine offers 240 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque for owners to enjoy. Matched with a six-speed automatic transmission the fuel efficiency comes in at 18 city/25 hwy mpg; still good numbers with the added control of AWD.

In the cleanup spot is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine also offered only with AWD that brings a great amount of power with 300 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine gets mated with the six-speed automatic transmission and brings in a fuel mileage of 17 city/24 hwy mpg. By adding plenty of power and not losing much in the fuel mileage numbers this is a great powertrain choice that includes the control of AWD.

Last up is the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine also offered only as AWD. This is the engine the designers came up with during a serious sugar rush and packed it full of power at 325 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque. Add the six-speed automatic transmission and this powerful pairing comes in at 17 city/24 hwy mpg to enjoy. Somehow this powertrain added a great amount of power and did not lose any of its fuel mileage and also enjoys the advantages of AWD. All of these powertrains are capable of a towing capacity of 3,300 pounds for a nice load of materials or a couple great toys to go to the lake with.

The standard equipment offered for the XC60 starts includes front and rear skid plates, the City Safety system, a 5-year/50,000 mile warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance for the same five years. Add to this grand list is steering wheel mounted audio controls, power windows, Bluetooth connectivity, 18-inch wheels, a 160-watt eight-speaker audio system with HD Radio, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel to give even the base model XC60 all the benefits of a luxury SUV.

All of this makes the XC60 a superior luxury vehicle.

The base price for the XC60 starts out around $36,500 and moving up the line will bring the next price point in at just under $41,500 for the other FWD model. The base AWD model comes in at $38,000 and moves up to $42,475 for the midrange model and to $47,000 as a starting point at the top of the lineup.
