Where Should We Put the New Hellcat Crate?

Hellcat Engine

As the newest and most powerful crate engine offered for sale showed up at the SEMA Show, the instant question has to be “where can I put this engine?” This new crate engine comes with everything you need to make sure you can have 707 horsepower for the drive you’re looking for but the idea of knowing where you can put this engine and have the power you want is an interesting consideration. Here are several choices that might be the right place to put this engine and allow it to be the one that gives you the ride that will blow your mind.

Jeep Renegade – Take the smallest model in the Jeep lineup and drop in the most powerful crate engine on the market and see what happens. This could be a supercharged machine that can offer you the amazing ride you’ve been looking for, if this engine fits in the bay of the Renegade. Just remember you will need earplugs when you drive if you make this vehicle.

Datsun Sport – As one of the original Z sports cars offered from Nissan this could be a car that would look classic and amazing and then rip off the fast laps and show off the power of the massive supercharged V8 from under the hood. This is a car that would be a white knuckle experience every time you head out on the track to rip off the drive you want to make.

Ram 1500 – This should be a predictable and easy place to put this new crate engine kit. This truck has the size and the space to handle the drive and it has already been done with the Rebel TRX concept that was offered. It’s time for there to be a successor to the SRT10 and a Hellcat in the Ram 1500 size could be the right way to give us what we’ve been looking for.

Tesla Model S – Putting the Hellcat engine into this car would be a humorous and confusing for some but can you imagine this EV model with the Hellcat engine replacing the EV powertrain? There might be a ton of alterations needed to make a grill and add what the engine would need, but it could be a lot of fun to see this sleek luxury sedan use a powerful gasoline engine.

W211 Mercedes-Benz E-Class – If you’re looking for a car that could accept the Hellcat engine with ease, this might be the one that’s perfectly built for it. The platform for this E-Class was built alongside the one used in the Charger and Challenger which means this engine kit might be able to fit in this car exactly the way it should without a lot of altering being done.

Ferrari 360 – A swap of this nature has been done in the past by one owner and the fact is this engine is the right size for the Ferrari 360 and could be an engine that sits in the back and offers you the drive you want with an exceptional amount of power for the ride. This could be a unique and interesting drive that you want to have on the tracks in your area.

Volvo 960 Wagon – Even though this wagon was already offered with a powerful engine, adding a screaming amount of acceleration from the Hellcat engine would make this car something insane to drive. The wagon is meant for families to be able to get stuff and people where they need to, with this engine kit, they could get there that much faster.

Caterham 7 – You won’t mistake this car when you see it and adding an engine of this power to a car that weighs in at just over 1,000 pounds could be a reason for you to update your will. This car is one that has famously good handling qualities to rip off fast laps and the engine would certainly stick up out of the hood to offer a new look that we can admire for the performance.

Chrysler Pacifica – If you tend to run late and need a powertrain that can get your kids to school that much faster, this can be the one that will give you the drive you want with the Hellcat engine crate. While it might not fit in a minivan, it’s certainly interesting to think about the fact that this vehicle might be able to have the power and speed to make you punctual once again.

Jeep Wrangler – Here is another one of the models that makes sense to drop this engine in and it’s a bit of a surprise that it hasn’t happened yet. The team at FCA has done it once with a Wrangler Trailcat concept model and we may see them offer it as a production part of the new JL Jeep models when they arrive on the market next year.
