When you want a big SUV that’s more luxurious than the Chevy Tahoe but not as expensive as the Cadillac Escalade, the 2025 GMC Yukon could be the right choice.
Do you need seating for up to eight people? Are you searching for that SUV with a little something special? GMC gives us a better pair of full-size SUVs for 2025. The Yukon and Yukon XL bring acres of space and increased levels of luxury for the drive. If you’re ready for the most upscale version of this SUV, go with the Denali trim and see what this top version brings to your drive.
What makes the Yukon a good choice?
This GMC SUV comes with an impressive package of great features, but the most impressive quality about it is the size offered. This big SUV can carry eight passengers wherever they need to go while also towing a heavy trailer full of gear. The Yukon pair are tuned to provide a comfortable ride on most roads. If you need one of the most capable SUVs in the market, it’s hard to argue against the Yukon which fills the full-size SUV market well.
Are there any upgrades expected for the 2025 GMC Yukon?
It’s that time in the generation again. The Yukon should receive a mid-generation refresh, which could give it a new look, a more powerful diesel engine, an improved base suspension, a relocated gear shifter, and improved tech features. The 4G Wi-Fi hotspot should be upgraded with a new 5G system taking over the job of providing Wi-Fi to passengers who need it while out on the road. This 2025 model should be available in the latter part of 2024.
Something to think about
If you’re looking for your next vehicle to be a gateway to the one after it, the GMC Yukon is an excellent choice. This full-size SUV offers class-leading resale value, retaining much of its original value after five years or more. This means you could keep the Yukon for many years and expect to receive an impressive level of value out of it when it’s time to trade it or sell it down the road.
What powers this big GMC SUV?
We expect the 2025 GMC Yukon to include the same three engines that are currently powering this big SUV. The Yukon will continue to be offered in its standard form and the longer Yukon XL, which adds more cargo room and a longer overall build.
The base engine should continue to be a 5.3-liter V8 that delivers 355 horsepower, while a 6.2-liter V8 providing 420 horsepower is the upgraded gas-powered V8 engine. The Yukon SUVs can also be had with a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel 6-cylinder engine that makes 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque.
An upscale driving feel from GMC
If you compare the GMC Yukon with the Chevy Tahoe, you’ll find the Yukon provides a smoother and more comfortable ride. The GMC brand is upmarket from Chevy, and with that comes an improved suspension to provide this comfort. The Yukon can be had with either an adaptive air suspension or Magnetic Ride Control to provide even better comfort and body control on the road.
How much gear can you take with you in the 2025 GMC Yukon?
The 2025 version of this SUV is expected to be the same size as what we have in 2023. This means the Yukon XL gives you 41.5 cubic feet behind the third-row seat. This seems like an enormous figure, but it gets better when you see 93.8 cubic feet behind the second row. Once you fold down both rear rows of seats, the Yukon XL has 144.7 cubic feet, which is more than what you’ll find in the Jeep Wagoneer L and Ford Expedition Max.
If you stick with the regular-length Yukon, the cargo space starts at 25.5 and maxes out at 122.9 cubic feet.
2025 brings a bigger touchscreen
The 2025 GMC Yukon lineup will feature a large 17.7-inch touchscreen set horizontally. This is huge compared to the current screen, which measures only 10.2 inches. For the new model, the digital instrument cluster is expected to grow to 11 inches in size, providing a larger reading for your gauges.
Super Cruise should be available
Super Cruise was first introduced in the Cadillac models and has begun making its way down the market. The 2025 GMC Yukon lineup could have this feature, giving owners more than 400,000 miles of highways in North America where you can drive hands-free. This system is excellent and allows the driver to relax, even if it’s only for a short time.
