Toyota recently gave us a look at the sports car we’ve been waiting for, but those of us that need an upgraded truck to help us get work done won’t be looking to purchase the Supra. Instead, the vehicle that’s going to get us excited about having a great truck to get the work done or pull the load will be the new version of the Toyota Tundra. While we haven’t seen the Tundra offered in its production form at one of the shows yet, the fact that Toyota is making upgrades to it gives us the hope we want.

The Toyota Tundra is Certainly Long in the Tooth

The current platform that’s used for the Toyota Tundra has been around since 2007. This means the Tundra has been on the market in its current build longer than any other truck in its class. Recent photos have surfaced of a new 2020 Toyota Tundra in camouflage to give us an idea of what this truck will look like and where Toyota is placing their energy to create an impressive new model of this truck. There will be upgrades to the front and rear of this truck to give us a Tundra that has a sporty and modern new appearance.

Toyota isn’t Giving it Away

The massive amount of coverings used during the testing of the new Tundra have led us to believe this truck will have upgrades in more areas than you might expect. While it doesn’t appear that the Tundra will have an entirely new platform, it will have improvements to the suspension and other features that are being hidden from us as part of the underside of this truck. Will we see a Tundra with a new independent rear suspension or an air suspension? We’ll have to wait and see if that will be the case.

Powering the new Toyota Tundra the Right Way

Because Toyota has a habit of taking things slowly when it comes to the development of a new model, the expectation is that the power for the new Toyota Tundra will come from the same engines we see in this truck today. The pair of engines that are used is the 4.6-liter and 5.7-liter V8 models that offer an excellent range of the power we’re looking for when it’s time for a great drive. One aspect we do expect to be improved is the transmission which could be a ten-speed automatic that’ will be used for this new Tundra.

Anticipating the Reveal of this new Toyota Tundra

When will we get to see what the new Toyota Tundra will offer us? Right now, we don’t have a scheduled show or time that’s been revealed to let us see the full list of features and qualities that will be the new Tundra. Expect to see Toyota give us this new truck later this year before they set their lineup for the 2020 model year. What you do know is the fact that the Tundra is being upgraded and that’s certainly an important item to know when you’re looking for an amazing new truck to drive. Get ready to turn in your used truck for this exciting new model.
