So far in many of the various cars that have been created to be introduced during the Gran Turismo video games the cars have offers over the top styling, crazy power and an engagement with racing that we really wish about to head to the production lines in order to give us the most amazing group of cars to drive anywhere on the planet.  The Gran Turismo game is entering its fifteenth year in business and has proven to be one of the most successful video games on the planet.  This kind of success has bred a desire of many of the automakers around the world to showcase a variety of concept vehicles for us to enjoy.

Chevrolet has gotten into the mix with the Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo.  This car is scary awesome and as forward thinking as you can get.  At the first look you can see this car looks a lot like a Formula One racer  that has been modified – A LOT!  This car has aerodynamics everywhere  with two channels running along the center driver tube and plenty of places where there isn’t anything to stop the airflow.  This allows the car to maximize the airflow for both downforce and aerodynamics.

Each of the wheels of the Chapparal 2X Vision are separate pods which have the rims, brakes and bearings in a full independent suspension form.  The cockpit of the car is a glass tube shape that is elevated off the ground to allow the driver to see all around, which is necessary if you were actually to drive this car at speeds that it should be expected to be able to reach.  The wing for this car is actually low to the ground to give it direct downforce and make it easier to cut through the air.

As a car that is expected to be a racer, at least for the game, the interior is not lavish or focused on comfort.  This car is all about speed and that includes the interior of the car.  The only luxury feature that showed itself was the premium leather seat that is made for the comfort of the driver.  Everything else is made to make this car a great drive and let anyone who does get the chance to take the car out on the track the ability to make this car reach speeds that are simply amazing.

This car is certainly a great offering from Chevrolet in order to be a car worthy of the bow tie even when put inside the Gran Turismo 7 game.  The power for the car is an envisioned use of lithium ion batteries that are powered by a 670 kilowatt laser.   This power will (at least in a world where this is the power) create a massive 900 horsepower and reach sixty mph in less than 1.5 seconds.  The top speed should this car ever become a reality would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 240 mph.  For the model that was built the power was certainly toned down by Chevrolet.

The Chapparel 2X Vision is one of the most impressive builds even for a Gran Turismo car that has ever been seen.  This is certainly an example of imagination meeting up with ingenuity to create a car that would be one that anyone on the planet would love to drive but really couldn’t.  As the perfect race car the Chapparel 2X Vision just might be the choice of racer you make when you do play the Gran Turismo 7 video game, remembering the look and pictures of this concept car that has made its way to video game stardom.
